Who We Are and How We Work
Concrete Contractors Manhattan pours and repairs home concrete in Manhattan, Kansas and the Flint Hills towns within a short drive of it. Six kinds of work make up the list: driveways, patios, stamped concrete, sidewalks and front steps, garage and shed slabs, and repair or replacement of concrete that has cracked, settled or started to flake.
The ground and the weather we plan for
Manhattan grew up at the junction of the Big Blue and Kansas rivers. The 1991 to 2020 normals put January's average low at 18.7 degrees and July's average high at 90.8, and roughly 35.8 inches of precipitation arrives in a typical year, with the heaviest share between May and August. Under the sod, weathered limestone has left clay full of chert gravel, and bedrock can sit close to the surface. One driveway can cross both rock and soft clay, so the base gets decided lot by lot.
Four habits on every job
1. We price after we look. A phone number for a slab we have not seen would leave out the tear-out, the grade and the drainage, which are what move the cost. 2. The quote is itemized. Removal, base, thickness, reinforcement, finish, joints and sealer are separate lines, so a second bid is easy to line up against ours. 3. Rules come before scheduling. Where the City of Manhattan, a county or a smaller town wants a permit or an inspection, we find out first. 4. The forecast sets the date. You also get written notes on foot traffic, parking and sealing for your new concrete.
Homeowners and rental owners
Census survey estimates show more than half of Manhattan's occupied homes are rented. A landlord's walk and parking pad freeze and thaw just like an owner's, so both get the same build and the same kind of quote.
